The fragrance opens with an intense, pungent burst of freshly ground culinary nutmeg paired with sharp bergamot. The citrus provides a fleeting flash of brightness, but the warm, prickly nutmeg dominates the first fifteen minutes entirely. It is a dry, fiery, and aromatic introduction that immediately sets a bold, spicy tone.

After approximately twenty minutes, the sharp nutmeg softens as clean lavender and crisp geranium emerge. This heart phase brings a classic barbershop freshness that balances the earlier spice. Eventually, earthy oakmoss, dark patchouli, and creamy sandalwood take control in the base, drying down into a warm, mossy, and resinous skin scent.

On bare skin, you can expect between seven and nine hours of solid longevity, thanks to fixing notes of olibanum and oakmoss. When sprayed onto clothes, knit sweaters, or outer jackets, the woody patchouli and lavender accords can easily linger for over twenty-four hours without needing reapplication.

Affinity projects strongly for the first two hours, pushing outward about two to three feet to create an assertive scent bubble. Past the third hour, the projection pulls closer to the body, resting within six to twelve inches of the skin while still leaving a distinct, mossy trail as you move.

Affinity performs best during cool spring mornings, crisp autumn afternoons, and cold winter evenings, ideally in temperatures between 40 and 65 degrees Fahrenheit. The dry, earthy moss and heavy nutmeg accords thrive in brisk air, whereas high summer heat and heavy humidity can make the spices feel stuffy and overbearing.

Affinity works exceptionally well for professional workplaces, board meetings, and formal dinners. Its refined barbershop lavender and clean moss structure project competence and poise. For relaxed weekend wear or casual outings, two light sprays provide a composed, put-together impression, though it is too serious for the beach or gym.

Although marketed as a unisex creation, Affinity leans distinctly masculine in practice. The combination of pungent nutmeg, aromatic lavender, geranium, and dry oakmoss mirrors traditional barbershop and fougere structures that masculine fragrance wearers typically gravitate toward. However, anyone who enjoys dry, non-sweet herbal chypres can wear it with ease.

While both fragrances share the house's luxurious base presentation, Affinity is significantly drier, spicier, and more herbal due to its prominent nutmeg and oakmoss profile. Glistening offers a smoother, sweeter, and more oriental composition, making it noticeably softer and less aggressive than Affinity's bracing barbershop opening.

Retailing at high niche price levels, Affinity offers premium presentation, strong longevity, and master blending by perfumer Christian Provenzano. However, because the heavy nutmeg opening is polarising, value depends heavily on your personal taste. If you love classic, powerful herbal chypres, it justifies the cost, but beginners should test it first.

Affinity pairs nicely with simple, uplifting citrus colognes or sheer woody molecule scents like Iso E Super. Layering a bright lemon or neroli fragrance over the top softens the aggressive nutmeg opening, while a clean amber or cedar base amplifies the smooth sandalwood and resinous dry-down.
