Very quickly, the fragrance shifts toward a richer red-toned heart, where plum, grapes and red fruits give it colour, sweetness and body.

What makes it more distinctive than a standard fruity scent is the wine effect. The red wine and pinot noir grape notes suggest something darker, rounder and more textured than a cheerful fruit cocktail. On skin, that idea is likely to read as juicy, slightly fermented, and softly plush rather than sharply alcoholic. If you like fruity fragrances that feel glossy and full rather than airy and sparkling, that direction is probably the main appeal here.

The floral notes sit quietly in the background. Orange blossom and osmanthus seem more likely to soften the fruit than to turn the fragrance overtly floral. That matters because Clericot does not read like a white floral perfume with fruit on top. It reads more like a fruit and wine composition shaped by woods and musk, with the floral details smoothing the transitions between the brighter opening and the sweeter core.

The base is where the scent seems designed to keep itself polished. Oak and cedar add dryness, white musk adds softness, and ambroxan gives the structure a cleaner modern lift. There is also a sugar note, which explains why the fragrance may feel quite sweet on some skin. Still, the woody base should stop it from collapsing into a syrupy finish. The overall impression is sweet, fruity and textured, but with enough backbone to stay wearable.

Because the available wear impressions are still limited, performance should be approached with some caution. Early feedback points in different directions, which often happens with newer releases and small sample sizes. On paper, the combination of sweet fruit, musk and ambroxan suggests a scent that can make itself known, especially in the first few hours. That said, it is still better to think of Clericot as a sample-first fragrance if longevity and projection are major priorities for you.

As a style, Clericot makes the most sense for people who enjoy fruit-forward scents with depth. It seems best suited to spring and cooler evenings, or to social settings where a sweeter, more characterful fragrance fits naturally. If you want something crisp, dry and minimal, this may feel too plush. If you want a fruity scent with a wine-stained, woody finish and no oud in sight, Clericot looks more promising.
