Covenant by Asad Siddiki is built around contrast. The opening combines apple, pink pepper and saffron, which suggests a bright fruity start with an immediate spicy glow underneath. That top can read inviting at first spray, but the structure beneath it is much darker. This is not the kind of apple fragrance that stays juicy and playful for long.

As it moves inward, the character looks more textured and more serious. Rose, cistus incanus, rosemary and clove create a heart that feels aromatic, floral and warm at the same time. The rose should not be read as a soft romantic centrepiece here. It seems more likely to act as a bridge between the vivid opening and the heavier base, adding shape and lift to the spices and woods.

The base is where Covenant seems to define itself most clearly. Indonesian oud, patchouli, labdanum, cypriol, amber and animal notes point to a resinous woody dry-down with a smoky, earthy and slightly roughened edge. That combination usually wears with more depth than polish. It may come across richer, more atmospheric and a little shadowy, especially once the fruit has faded back.

The accord profile supports that impression. Fruity sits at the top, but warm spicy, woody and amber follow closely, with musky, rose and animalic touches underneath. In practice, that suggests a fragrance that opens brighter than it finishes. Buyers who want a clean fresh scent may find the deeper stages too dense, while anyone looking for something with spice, resin and oud texture may find that progression more appealing.

Because there is no reliable wear data here, it is better to stay careful about performance claims. On paper, this reads like a scent with enough weight for evenings, cooler weather and occasions where a darker oriental woody style feels right. It may also suit people who enjoy modern niche or boutique perfumery that uses familiar materials, but arranges them with more mood than obvious sweetness.

The main reason to sample Covenant is its balance between approachability and edge. Apple and saffron can make the opening easier to like, but the dry-down does not look conventionally easygoing. The animalic and resinous base may be exactly what some wearers want, and too much for others. If your taste leans toward plush ambers, spicy oud blends and rose-tinged woods, Covenant makes sense as a try. If you prefer transparent woods, citrus freshness or very smooth designer-style sweetness, sample before committing.
