As it settles, the fragrance becomes greener and more aromatic. Sage adds a dry herbal edge, while Bourbon geranium gives the heart a rosy, minty, slightly sharp tone. This is where Diurno may divide people. On the right skin, the geranium keeps the sweetness crisp and elegant. On others, it can feel cloying, medicinal or too powdery, especially if you prefer very dry fougeres.

The dry-down is cleaner than the opening suggests. White musk, water notes and cedar give it a fresh, polished base with a faint expensive soap feeling. The amaretto does not seem to dominate for long, so buyers expecting a full gourmand almond fragrance may be disappointed. Diurno is more of a fougere with a sweet amaretto accent than an amaretto perfume from start to finish.

That makes sense for the style: it has enough personality to be noticed, but the dry-down behaves better than the opening might suggest. Some wearers report weaker projection after a few hours, so it is worth testing if you need a scent that stays loud.

Diurno works best in spring, mild summer days and clean daytime settings. It can handle office wear, lunches, travel and casual smart dressing, especially for someone who wants a fresh aromatic scent that is not bland. The sweetness and powdery musk make it less ideal for very hot, humid days if you are sensitive to heavier clean musks.

The main reason to sample Diurno is also the main reason to avoid blind buying it: the balance is unusual. Lavender, amaretto, sage, geranium, water notes and musk create a fragrance that can feel stylish, clean and inventive, but also sharper, sweeter or more synthetic than expected. If you like modern barbershop scents with a twist, Diurno is easy to recommend as a test. If you want a dry, austere fougere or a realistic almond liqueur scent, manage expectations.
