The first spray opens with a massive wave of juicy cantaloupe melon, sweet peach, and candied citrus peel from bergamot and lemon. It smells intensely fruity and sweet, resembling tropical nectar. Within two minutes, a pungent, earthy streak of dark agarwood rises from beneath the fruit, creating a sharp, polarizing clash between sugary sweetness and raw timber.

As the top notes fade after thirty minutes, the melon and apple blend into a spicy saffron heart. Around the three-hour mark, the initial fruitiness pulls back, allowing rich leather, amber, and dark agarwood to take center stage. The final dry-down becomes smoky, slightly barnyard, and smoothed out by creamy vanilla and white musk on skin.

On bare skin, Erba Oud regularly delivers between 12 and 14 hours of persistent wear. On clothing, wool coats, or fabric collars, the heavy base notes of agarwood, leather, and white musk can easily survive for three to five days or until thoroughly laundered. One or two sprays provide all-day coverage without touching up.

The projection is room-filling and intense for the first three hours, easily pushing out six feet or more. As it dries down, it maintains a dense two to three foot scent bubble throughout the day. The sillage leaves a thick, lingering trail of smoky wood and sweet fruit wherever you walk.

Erba Oud performs best in cold weather during late autumn, winter, and brisk early spring days. Crisp temperatures below 55 degrees Fahrenheit tame the animalic facets of the oud and keep the sugary melon note from turning cloying. High summer heat makes the smoky leather and barnyard undertones overwhelmingly heavy.

This bold scent is ideal for night outings, outdoor winter gatherings, and lively weekend parties where high sillage is welcome. It is far too loud and polarizing for enclosed office spaces, corporate boardrooms, or hospital settings. Save it for casual winter evenings or social events with plenty of ventilation.

Erba Oud is marketed as unisex and sits right down the middle. The opening melon, peach, and vanilla notes offer a sweet profile often loved by feminine fragrance wearers, while the smoky leather, saffron, and animalic agarwood provide a dark, rugged base favored by masculine fragrance enthusiasts. Anyone who loves bold, unconventional woods can wear it.

Both perfumes share a sweet, tropical melon and citrus backbone, but their dry-downs diverge dramatically. While Erba Pura leans into clean amber, white musk, and bright fruit cocktail sweetness, Erba Oud injects authentic, funky Indian agarwood, smoky leather, and saffron. Erba Oud is significantly darker, dirtier, and more polarizing than the sweeter Erba Pura.

Because Erba Oud comes in a concentrated Eau de Parfum formulation with nuclear performance, a single 100ml bottle will last for years. Since you only need one or two sprays per application, the cost per wear is reasonable. However, its divisive profile means it is only good value if you genuinely enjoy animalic woods.

To soften the animalic agarwood, layer Erba Oud with a straightforward, airy vanilla or clean amber musk. If you want to lean into its freshness, add a spritz of a crisp, dry citrus cologne like pure bergamot or neroli. Avoid layering with other heavy leather or tobacco scents, as the mixture becomes suffocating.
