Felina by New Notes is a gourmand that starts with obvious comfort notes, but it does not stay soft and dessert-like for long. On paper, the mix of caramel, coffee, chocolate, milk, vanilla and coconut suggests something plush and indulgent. In wear, it usually lands darker, drier and more textured than that note list implies.

The opening is where Felina is easiest to like. Reviews point to creamy coffee, vanilla and dark chocolate, with a cosy sweetness that feels rounded rather than sticky. Cinnamon and warm spice help give it lift, while the coffee-chocolate pairing adds a roasted bitterness that stops it from reading like simple caramel syrup.

As it develops, Felina becomes more divisive. The heart pulls in powder, woods, tobacco and musk, and this is where skin chemistry seems to matter quite a bit. Some people get an intimate, sensual warmth with a natural-smelling blend. Others find a harsher synthetic base, a dry heavy tobacco-coffee effect, or a green note that interrupts the gourmand mood. That gap between expectation and wear is important, because this is not a guaranteed cosy vanilla all the way through.

The dry-down is usually ambery, musky and woody, with vanilla still present but not always leading. On some skin it reads smooth and close, like a warm veil with lingering sweetness. On others it turns more powdery, bitter or dense, with the sweeter notes fading faster than expected. If you are hoping for a creamy milk-and-caramel finish, you may find the later stages less indulgent and more serious.

Performance looks solid overall, though not completely consistent. The broader picture suggests long-lasting wear with moderate to strong projection in the early stages. Still, there are enough mixed impressions to avoid overpromising. Some reviewers find it settles quickly into a softer aura, and at least one found both the base and longevity disappointing.

Felina makes the most sense in autumn and winter, especially at night. It has the warmth and density for cold air, and the tobacco, powder and amber give it more of a dressed-up evening character than a casual daytime gourmand. It may suit people who like sweet fragrances with a smoky, woody, grown-up edge. If you want a lighter café vanilla or a clean office scent, this is less convincing.

The main reason to sample first is simple. Felina can smell rich, sensual and well-blended, but it can also turn dry, musky or unexpectedly green depending on your skin and taste. For the right wearer, that complexity is the appeal. For others, it may feel like a promising opening followed by a dry-down that never fully delivers on the comfort-gourmand idea.
