Grass is one of those fragrances that tells you exactly what it wants to be from the first spray. The opening pushes a highly recognisable fresh-cut grass effect, backed by aloe and oily green facets that give it a damp, crushed-stem texture. It does not smell clean in a soapy or shower-fresh way. It smells botanical, vivid and slightly raw.

That opening is the reason many people will sample Grass in the first place. It has the kind of green profile that feels more realistic than abstract, and that realism is what makes it appealing if you enjoy nature-led scents. At the same time, it also explains why this will not suit everyone. The same sharpness that makes it convincing can also read as harsh, medicinal or overly herbal on the wrong skin or to the wrong nose.

As Grass develops, the fragrance becomes less literal and more wearable. The greener top settles into a woody, herbal heart with touches of violet, neroli and bergamot smoothing the edges. The powdery side is noticeable in the mid to late stages, and the smoky base adds a faint shadow underneath the greenery. The transition is interesting because it stops being just about cut grass and starts feeling more like a full green composition with texture and depth.

In wear, Grass tends to sit in the moderate performance range. It usually projects enough to be noticed without behaving like a loud room-filler, and it often wears best when you want something distinctive but not aggressive. The catch is that the most photorealistic grass effect is strongest early on. If that opening is the part you love most, be aware that the later drydown leans woodier, softer and less literal.

This is also a fragrance with a clear seasonal identity. Spring makes the most sense for it, and mild summer weather suits it well too. In those conditions, the green accord feels fresh and alive. In stronger heat, the more herbal and smoky facets may feel denser, and people who want an easy fresh fragrance may find it less comfortable.

Grass works best for someone who actively wants a green fragrance with personality. If your taste leans toward realistic herbs, leaves, stems and woods, it offers something more distinctive than a standard citrus fresh scent. If you prefer smooth, sweet or universally pleasing perfumes, this may feel too angular. That is why it is better approached as a sample-first fragrance, especially if you are curious about green perfumes but not yet committed to them.
