On paper it sits in a woody chypre space, but in wear it comes across more as a spicy woody floral with aromatic freshness at the top and a smooth, slightly sweet core underneath. That combination gives it personality, though it also means it is less straightforward than the brand's easier crowd-pleasers.

The opening is brisk and textured. Cardamom brings the main spice, while citrus lifts the first few minutes and keeps the fragrance from feeling too dense too early. Star anise and fennel add a cool, herbal liquorice-like twist, and cypress gives the top a green, polished edge. This part is fresh enough to feel lively, but it is not a bright citrus fragrance for long. The sharper top notes settle fairly quickly and the scent starts to show its softer side.

That softer side is where Lexington Avenue becomes more distinctive. Creme brulee and almond give the heart a creamy sweetness, but the fragrance does not turn fully gourmand. Peony and orris keep it more refined than edible, with the orris adding a powdery, smooth texture rather than anything overly cosmetic. The contrast is the main point here: spice and aromatic freshness on top, then a heart that feels plush, lightly floral and gently sweet. If that balance sounds appealing, Lexington Avenue has something to offer. If you want either a clean dry woody scent or a rich dessert scent, it may feel caught between styles.

As it dries down, sandalwood and patchouli pull the composition back into warmer, woodier territory. The patchouli is noticeable enough to give the base some depth, though it does not completely dominate. The result is a finish that feels smoother than the opening, with powder, soft spice and woods staying in view. The fragrance usually reads unisex, which fits the note structure. Some people will likely find the floral-powdery side more prominent, while others will focus on the spice, patchouli and woods.
