In the dry-down, amber, leather, labdanum and musk take over. That combination gives Topaze its more mature character. Instead, it leans into amber, spice, resin and leather, with a citrus opening that keeps it from becoming too dense too soon. That gives it a more dressed, composed personality. People who enjoy richer orientals and spicy ambers may find that appealing, while lovers of airy florals or soft laundry-fresh perfumes may not.

Topaze is best approached as a taste-driven fragrance rather than a universal crowd-pleaser. Its strengths are character, warmth and a defined trail. Its risk is that the animalic leather-amber base may read a little too bold or old-school for some preferences.
