The opening is the biggest dividing line. Several wearers love its realism, but just as many warn that the first minute can be harsh. Petitgrain pushes hard at the start, sometimes reading sharp, chemical or cleaning-product adjacent before the alcohol burn drops away. If you get past that opening, Mosaic usually becomes far more interesting. The bergamot stays crisp, the moss gives it a dry green frame, and the watery mineral character starts to make sense.

This fragrance genuinely seems to aim for a cool, mineral atmosphere rather than a generic aquatic profile. It can smell tranquil, almost meditative, but never especially soft. There is a bitter edge running through it that keeps it from drifting into spa-candle territory.

In wear, Mosaic usually stays fresh, green and lightly woody. The cedar is supportive rather than dominant, while oakmoss adds a chypre-like dryness that gives the fragrance more shape than most warm-weather releases. It does not turn creamy or sweet later on. Instead, it becomes a restrained blend of moss, wood, citrus peel and mineral water. That makes it appealing if you want something outdoorsy, clean and a little off-centre.

Performance is the weak point. The vote breakdown suggests moderate longevity and moderate sillage overall, but the reviews are inconsistent. Some people get only a brief wear with very soft projection, while others report getting faint wafts much later than expected. The safest takeaway is that Mosaic is not a projection monster and may sit fairly close to the skin after the early stage. If you need strong presence, this may disappoint.

Where Mosaic works best is in spring and summer, especially daytime, office wear and hot weather. The structure is calm and elegant enough for work, but the smell itself is unusual enough to feel personal rather than generic. It also suits people who enjoy green, bitter or mossy fresh scents more than people chasing easy crowd-pleasers. If you want bright sweetness or marine freshness, it may feel too austere.

As a full composition, Mosaic is more distinctive than its note list suggests. At its best, it smells like citrus oils, wet stone and moss carried on cool air. At its worst, the opening can feel abrasive and the performance can feel too light. For the right wearer, though, that strange mineral serenity is exactly the point.
