On others, the smoky birch and guaiac wood push harder, making the opening feel more industrial and more severe.

The heart is where On the Road becomes easier to understand. The rougher edges pull back and the composition starts to read as a smoky leather-amber rather than an abstract roadside study. There is still a dark phenolic streak running through it, but now it sits beside balsamic warmth, soft vanilla, labdanum and tonka. The dry-down is the most approachable part. Here, the woody leather theme remains, but it is cushioned by resin, amber sweetness and a touch of mossy depth.
