Poseidon by Mauro Lorenzi Profumi is built around a marine idea, but the structure suggests more than a standard fresh aquatic. The opening reads cool and aromatic, with eucalyptus, water notes and sea salt setting the tone straight away. Thyme, artemisia and myrtle add a dry herbal push that should give it a Mediterranean feel rather than a generic shower-fresh profile.

That opening is probably the fragrance's main selling point. Eucalyptus can bring an almost airy, camphor-like brightness, and here it is paired with salt and water instead of mint or heavy citrus. The result looks sharper and more windswept than juicy. If you usually find aquatic scents too plain or too synthetic, Poseidon at least appears to be aiming for more texture and character.

In the heart, the composition seems to soften without losing its fresh backbone. Cherry blossom and pelargonium suggest a light floral veil rather than anything creamy or lush, while lemon verbena keeps the middle lifted. Fennel is an unusual detail and could add a green, slightly anisic twist that makes the transition more interesting. That may also make Poseidon a little less crowd-pleasing than a typical mass-market marine scent, which is not necessarily a weakness if you want something with personality.

The base looks steadier and warmer. Cedar and musk are likely to keep things clean and dry, while patchouli adds body and benzoin rounds the edges with a touch of ambered sweetness. There are also spicy notes listed, though they do not look dominant from the accord picture. Overall, the dry-down seems likely to move from breezy and herbal into something woodier, smoother and more grounded, without fully leaving the marine theme behind.

Performance evidence is thin, so it is worth staying careful. The available votes point toward strong sillage and long-lasting wear, but the sample size is very small. Even so, this does not look like an intentionally quiet scent. With eucalyptus, aromatic herbs, woods and musk all in play, Poseidon may wear with a fairly noticeable aura, especially in the first hours. Spring and summer are the clearest fit, and daytime use makes the most sense.

The audience here seems fairly specific. Poseidon may suit someone who likes coastal fragrances with herbal sharpness and a dry woody finish. It may be less ideal for buyers who want sweetness, a soft powdery floral mood, or the ultra-smooth style often found in mainstream blue fragrances. Sampling first would be sensible if fennel, eucalyptus or camphor-like facets tend to be difficult on your skin.

What stands out most is the balance between freshness and structure. Poseidon appears to use marine notes as a setting, not the whole story. That makes it more interesting than many watery scents, and possibly more divisive too. For the right wearer, that is exactly the point.
