Risque is one of those fragrances that makes its point early. The opening is bright with bergamot and lemon, but it is not a cheerful citrus freshie. The citrus quickly slips into something greener, drier and more tailored, with the kind of structure that tells you this is a floral chypre first. If you enjoy perfumes with a clear backbone, Risque has it.

Once the top settles, the floral heart comes forward. Jasmine, rose, hyacinth and ylang-ylang give it body, but the effect is less plush bouquet and more poised, slightly cool glamour. Several wearers describe it as a beautiful green floral, and that feels accurate. The flowers are present, yet they are shaped by patchouli, moss and herbs, so the perfume never drifts into a soft, sugary floral style. It stays composed, polished and a little aloof.

What makes Risque interesting is the contrast between its elegance and its texture. On paper the note list suggests something potentially dense, but on skin it often reads lighter and more fluid than expected. Some wearers even describe it as wispy rather than overwhelming. At the same time, it still has real presence. The civet and labdanum in the base do not turn it overly dirty or heavy, but they add a quiet warmth that stops the fragrance from feeling too sharp or brittle.

This balance is also why Risque can feel both classic and modern. The chypre skeleton is unmistakable, especially once the oakmoss, patchouli and vetiver begin to take hold. Still, the citrus brightness and relatively airy development keep it from feeling locked in the past. If you usually find old-school chypres too powdery, too severe or too dense, this may be one of the easier ways into the style. If your skin pulls lemon notes harshly, though, the opening may come across more cleaning-product sharp than elegant.

In wear, Risque seems to perform well. It usually lands in the long-lasting category, with repeated comments about all-day wear, and the trail tends to be moderate to strong rather than skin-close. It suits spring naturally, when the green floral side feels crisp and alive, but it can also work in autumn and even winter if you want something bright rather than sweet. This is not a casual crowd-pleaser in the modern fruity-floral sense. It suits someone who likes perfume with posture, a touch of vintage glamour, and a dry floral finish that feels dressed rather than playful.
