Scandal is Roja Dove in a very classical floral mood. From the note list alone, you might expect a lush white bouquet, and that is exactly the heart of it, but the effect on skin is less tropical or sugary than the word tuberose sometimes suggests. Instead, it comes across polished, composed and slightly formal, with jasmine, gardenia and tuberose arranged in a way that feels expensive, smooth and deliberately old-school.

The opening tends to split opinion. Some wearers get a bright citrus-floral lift with a sparkling edge, almost champagne-like in character. Others notice a sharper, soapier start, even a touch of animalic heat before the fragrance settles. That early contrast matters, because Scandal is not one of those instantly soft white florals. It can feel loud at first, and if you are sensitive to indolic florals or vintage-style openings, the first half hour is worth testing carefully.

Once it calms down, the perfume becomes easier to place. Jasmine and gardenia take over for many wearers, with tuberose adding body and a creamy, slightly narcotic depth rather than turning the scent into a heady tuberose soliflore. Freesia, rose and lily of the valley keep the bouquet airy enough to stop it feeling thick. The result is elegant and very floral, but usually not messy. Even people who find it dated often acknowledge that it is well blended.

The dry-down is where Scandal becomes more wearable. Orris gives a faint powdery hush, while musk and sandalwood keep the base clean, smooth and understated. This is not a base-heavy perfume with dramatic woods or resin. The floral heart remains the point, and the base mainly rounds the edges. That is part of why some people find Scandal romantic and graceful, while others find it too straightforward for the price.

In wear, it usually performs well. It often starts with clear projection and can feel strong in the first stages, then settles into a lasting floral aura. On many people it lasts well through the day, though not always with the same volume from start to finish. That makes it more versatile than some richer white florals, but it still leans dressy, especially if you associate soapy florals with classic perfumery.

The key buying question is taste, not quality. If you want a plush, creamy white floral that feels feminine, poised and a little vintage, Scandal has a lot going for it. If you want something more modern, more transparent or less formal, it may feel too familiar, too soapy or simply too polished for its own good. This is a fragrance to sample for style as much as for scent.
