“Lush V Review”

Lush V is built around a simple but very characterful idea: violet made darker, woodier and more textured. The note list is short, but the effect is not plain. Ylang-ylang gives the opening a floral lift, violet quickly takes the spotlight, and cedar with clove pulls everything into a powdery, spicy, slightly shadowy dry-down.

The first impression seems to be where most of the debate sits. Some wearers clearly love the authentic sweet violet feel, especially the Parma Violet side, while others find the opening sharp, synthetic or strangely fizzy. That split makes sense. V does not sound polished in a glossy mainstream way. It has an eccentric edge, and on some skin the combination of floral sweetness, clove spice and cedar can feel a little medicinal, chemical or old-fashioned before it settles.

Once it calms down, the scent usually reads as woody violet first, powder second, spice third. The violet is not watery or sheer. It feels dense, cosmetic and nostalgic, almost like violet pastilles, lipstick powder or scented drawers. The cedar keeps it dry enough to stop the sweetness from taking over, while clove adds warmth and a faintly gothic mood that fits the fragrance well. If you enjoy perfumes with a slightly vintage texture, this part of V can be very appealing.

Wear is another point in its favour. The voting suggests moderate to long-lasting performance overall, and some user patterns point to especially strong staying power on clothes. Sillage looks mostly moderate, though it can come across stronger depending on how heavily you spray and how the sharper opening behaves on your skin. This is not a quiet skin scent, but it also does not read as a huge projector in most cases.

Season matters here. V looks most at home in autumn and winter, and that tracks with the scent itself. The powdery violet, dry cedar and clove warmth can feel elegant, moody and even comforting in cool air. In high heat, the same profile may feel heavier, dustier or more abrasive. Day or evening both make sense, but the atmosphere leans more overcast afternoon, cold evening, or rainy-day wear than bright summer casual.

The main caution is that V is not especially easy. If you want a smooth, fresh floral or a crowd-pleasing woody scent, this is probably the wrong part of the Lush range to start with. But if you like violet perfumes with personality, and you do not mind a little weirdness in the opening, V offers something recognisable and unusual. It has a clear identity, and that matters more here than broad appeal.
