Encre Galuchat by Élixir Privé opens with a sharp flash of Nigerian ginger, zesty lime, and warm cardamom before settling into its signature dark core. The scent feels like opening an antique calligraphy box, where wet black ink meets cool violet leaf and rich saffron. As the heart unfolds, powdery violet and earthy cypriol smooth out the initial spice, creating a tactile texture reminiscent of textured stingray skin. The deep dry-down is dominated by heavy leather, smoky guaiac wood, rich cocoa, and resinous labdanum. It is an intense, dark, yet surprisingly ozonic leather fragrance that stays bold on skin all day.
