Rhizomes by L'Atelier Boheme smells like pulling fresh vetiver roots straight from damp garden soil and dusting them with freshly grated ginger and tart lemon rind. Created in 2009 by perfumer Crystelle Darchicourt, this woody floral musk focuses on the subterranean character of natural roots. The opening delivers a sharp, mouthwatering burst of Amalfi lemon, bitter grapefruit, and spicy ginger. As the bright citrus settles down, a velvety core of iris and cool violet emerges, giving the earthy vetiver a soft, powdery texture. In the base, an unexpected touch of black licorice adds sweet herbal depth alongside clean musk and dry woody grass. It is an honest, rustic, yet refined scent built for crisp morning walks and casual daytime wear.
