Chouette Vierge No. 9 hits the air with a bold burst of boozy black cherry and bitter almond. Crisp green pine needles immediately cut the fruitiness. The opening packs serious bite. Fresh black pepper and nutmeg give it a spicy, prickly edge before Turkish rose and dark plum soften the heart. A dense base of Peru balsam, sandalwood, and leather anchors the fragrance for over ten hours. It leaves a rich oil sheen on skin upon application. Do not overspray this. In cool weather, the smoky woods and benzoin project with clean warmth, while high summer humidity can turn the dark cherry cloying. It wears best as a cold-weather statement. Show less
