MATCA Midnight Honey opens with a sharp burst of bitter orange and mandarin before revealing a heavy beeswax core. Tropical frangipani and yellow mimosa lighten the dense honey accord in the mid, keeping the sweetness grounded in natural floral sap. As it warms on skin, smoky labdanum and raw leather pull the composition into darker territory, joined by dry immortelle and benzoin. The contrast between bright citrus blossom and thick resinous resin gives this 2023 release an earthy, unfiltered feel. It wears best during cool autumn evenings when the waxy animalic notes can project without feeling heavy. Show less
