Kid in Candy Store leans straight into a fruity gourmand style, opening with tart cherry, strawberry, blackcurrant and bitter almond over a creamy milk note. It quickly settles into a sweeter core of caramel, raspberry, plum and soft florals. The dry-down looks richer and warmer, with vanilla, tonka, sandalwood, benzoin and spice adding a woody, sugary finish. This suits shoppers who enjoy. Show less

Vanilla by Tom Ford marks a bold, polarizing direction for the brand's gourmand lineup. It greets you with a sharp, medicinal blast of bitter almond that feels almost like amaretto spilled on cold granite. This chilly, nutty opening soon yields to a warm, milky wave of vanilla absolute and cozy tonka bean on a quiet sandalwood base. It lacks the smoky darkness of Tobacco Vanille, opting instead for a clean, sweet, and somewhat clinical texture. If you want a comforting winter skin scent for quiet nights or office wear, this works well. However, the steep price tag means you should sample it on skin before committing to a full bottle.
