Athena Fragrances launched Taj in 2021 as a dense Oriental Floral scent built on heavy contrasts. The composition opens with a sharp flash of buttery iris paired with dark, boozy rum. As the alcohol flash settles, a heart of velvet rose and jasmine sambac fills out the middle, smoothing the dry powdery texture of the iris. The base brings grounding weight, coupling medicinal agarwood with warm, animalic civet. It is a brooding fragrance made for dark wool coats, formal evening events, and cold autumn nights when low temperatures allow the dark notes to project without suffocating the room. Show less
