On first spray, the brightness is what most people will notice. Citrus notes like grapefruit and bergamot give a fresh, slightly sharp lift that reads energetic rather than airy. Almost immediately, clary sage comes through with a green, aromatic edge. If you love herbal freshness, this part can feel crisp and cleansing. If you are sensitive to sharp openings, this is also the stage to pay attention to, because the citrus-herbal combination can feel assertive.

If you want it to feel clean and effortless, keep sprays low, especially in heat. If you like your scent to announce itself, it can do that too.

Seasonally, it tends to make the most sense in fall, winter, and mild spring weather, when the woody amber base feels cozy and the aromatic citrus keeps it from getting too heavy. In summer it can still work, but the sharper opening and stronger presence may feel louder, so it is better as a light application rather than a high-spray daily driver.
