Aqaba Classic opens with an energetic blast of crushed cardamom, sharp cinnamon bark, and rich Bulgarian rose. Perfumer Thierry Wasser built this 1998 creation around heavy spice and dense florals rather than modern gourmand sugars. As the immediate heat from the top notes subsides, Taif rose and pungent clove take over the mid phase, keeping the floral core dry and prickly. The base settles into smoky olibanum resin, cedar, and earthy oakmoss, softened slightly by a faint dried peach nuance and black tea. It wears heavy, rich, and distinctly vintage, suited best for crisp November evenings or freezing January nights when light florals vanish.
