Bad City by Hendley Perfumes opens with a sharp burst of raw leather, dark port wine, and bittersweet saffron. Created by independent perfumer Hans Hendley in 2019, this unisex composition moves quickly from a fruity top note of davana into a dense, smoky core. Natural choya loban resin provides a burnt, resinous haze that clings to the skin, while costus root adds an earthy animalic foundation. It smells intentionally unrefined, balancing the sweetness of fermented wine against the bitter bite of metallic spice and heavy hide. A dark scent built around bold contrasts. Show less
