Boucheron launched Cuir de Venise in 2021 as a woody spicy fragrance that tricks your senses. Despite the name referencing Venetian leather, there is no official leather note here. Instead, perfumers Michel Almairac and Clément Marx blend bitter raw cacao seeds with zesty ginger and sharp cinnamon in the opening. As it warms on skin during crisp autumn evenings, dark patchouli and earthy papyrus join smoky guaiac wood. The base lingers with dry cedarwood and a touch of unsweetened vanilla. It creates a dusty, cozy aura built for cool weather and casual wool sweaters.
