Hollow by Criminal Elements smells like stepping into a cold, rain-drenched Australian fern gully where crushed black currants and damp potting soil mingle in the crisp air. Indie perfumer Corey Newcombe built this fragrance around an uncommon balance of tart berries, wet violet leaf, and deep forest floor notes like oakmoss and soil tincture. Instead of a bone-dry vintage chypre, it comes across remarkably lush, dewy, and almost chilling on the skin. A kick of sharp bergamot and juniper berry brightens the top before woody vetiver and cedar take root.
