SoOud Hadìs opens with a sharp burst of lime and bergamot before dropping straight into dense, leathery saffron and resinous balsam fir. Perfumer Stéphane Humbert Lucas constructs a heavy contrast here, pitting bright Mediterranean citrus against a dark backdrop of patchouli, papyrus, and medicinal oud. As the initial citrus fizz dies down after twenty minutes, a subtle jasmine note softens the dry cedar wood and earthy oakmoss underneath. It wears best during cool fall evenings and winter nights when cold air keeps the intense amber and musk from choking out the room. This unisex oriental scent suits seasoned fragrance collectors who want heavy woody accords with an unexpected sour citrus snap. Show less

Tiger's Nest by Memo Paris opens with sharp lime and bitter absinthe before settling into an intense incense heart. Alienor Massenet constructed this 2018 composition around heavy amber resins, rich frankincense, and warm saffron. A powdery floral undercurrent of osmanthus and rose softens the initial bite, keeping the smoke from becoming too harsh. As the perfume dries down, tolu balsam and vanilla bring a smooth balsamic warmth against dry papyrus. It wears best during crisp fall evenings and freezing winter days when cold air lets the resinous spice project without smothering people around you. Show less
