Rouge Smoking Extrait opens with a heavy blast of tart black cherry and spiced pink pepper, underpinned by bitter almond. Within minutes, the glossy fruity top settles into a dense, resinous heart where warm Peru balsam and milky accords create a thick, gourmand texture. It feels noticeably heavier and darker than the original Eau de Parfum, trading fizzy cherry soda tones for boozy rum and deep benzoin resins. On skin, the fragrance warms into a dark amber base anchored by patchouli and woodiness, though a strong dose of ambroxan gives the late dry down a synthetic bite. It shines best in cold winter air or during late formal evening outings in a leather jacket.
