Nathalie Rouquet created Britannia in 2019 as a sharp aromatic fougere built around green contrasts. The opening hits skin with pungent basil and bitter lemon, edged by licorice-tinged anise. It feels cold and herbal before transitioning into clean sage, sweet pineapple, and bitter neroli. As the fragrance settles, smoked cedar and vetiver pull the sweetness down toward an earthy forest floor. Oakmoss provides a dry, traditional barbershop texture that keeps the fruit in check. It wears remarkably well during damp autumn afternoons or cool spring mornings.
