The Spirit of Dubai Oud opens with a sharp burst of bitter lime, pungent saffron, and prickly black pepper before dropping straight into dense Indian agarwood. The wood here smells raw and medicinal at first, heavily saturated with dark leather, smoky incense, and dry cypriol oil. As the initial sharpness burns off, sweet pineapple and damask rose soften the bitter edges without turning the composition sugary. Warm amber, bitter almond, and earthy patchouli emerge in the heart to give the woody accord a thick, resinous base. On cold winter evenings or during formal outdoor gatherings, a single spray projects across several feet and clings tenaciously to wool coats and heavy fabrics. It stays dark, spicy, and noticeably animalic throughout its long life on skin.
