Tabac Dore Attar by Bortnikoff opens with a dry dusting of dark cocoa powder, pink pepper, and oak barrel whiskey. As the oil warms on skin, the booze settles into a heavy core of unlit tobacco absolute and sticky benzoin. A soft touch of dried fig keeps the heart from feeling overly bitter. During the late dry-down, wild Thailand oud and tolu balsam take over, leaving a resinous trail of dark woods and unrefined tobacco leaf.
