Tom Ford Velvet Orchid opens with a boozy splash of rum and thick, dripping honey, immediately establishing a dark, sweet character. As it warms on the skin, a heavy floral core of black orchid and jasmin takes over, shifting the initial sweetness into a dense, velvety texture. Sandalwood, vanilla, and a resinous myrrh base anchor the dry-down, wrapping the floral notes in a smooth, suede-like warmth. It feels best suited for cold winter nights or formal evening events when you want a fragrance that projects confidence without screaming. While it carries the DNA of its famous predecessor, it trades aggressive earthy patchouli for a softer, more approachable floral glow. It is a solid buy for lovers of dense, sweet florals, but casual wearers should start with a sample. Show less
