Black Pepper by Areej hits the skin with an immediate blast of crushed black pepper and dry tobacco leaf. The opening feels fiery and dark, striking a sharp balance between pungent kitchen spice and cured leaf. It avoids early sweetness, leaning hard into a raw, textured bite that demands cool air to breathe properly. As the sharp top settles, dense cocoa, tonka, and dark vanilla emerge to soften the edges without smothering the spice. The dry-down turns chewy and dark, pulling subtle sweetness from dried fruits against a sturdy background of dry woods. It sits firmly in the warm spicy family, built for late evening wear in freezing temperatures.
