Wode (Paint) by Boudicca, created by perfumer Geza Schoen in 2008, spray-dispenses as a bright cobalt mist that stains skin before vanishing within minutes. Underneath the visual trick lies a dark, resinous leather scent built around sharp juniper berry, crushed cardamom, and raw opium accord. As the blue tint clears, cold herbs and black hemlock give way to a dry down of styrax resin, oakmoss, and heavy labdanum on warm skin. It suits damp autumn evenings when you want a herbal, medicinal edge rather than a cozy gourmand. The opening feels chilly and metallic, but the dry down settles into an earthy leather with a quiet, animalic warmth.
